Hi there...not sure what to do or what to expect. I signed up in support of my drummer. She's a brave little survivor. Her bandmates are proud of her. Keep on rockin' girlie! Tell your story to everyone who'll listen!

I think it's great that you are supporting your friend. Not all friends do, but I know having a support system makes all the difference in my life.

Hi Bandman,

My name is Lynn, and I am a member of the New Member Support Team. I just wanted to take the time to say welcome to After Silence.

I hope that your friend finds comfort and support here, and I definitely know that she will find others who understand her.

I am glad that you are supporting her and have sought out help in doing so. We look forward to getting to know you both. If you need anything or have questions about the boards or how something works, please send me a personal message. I will gladly help in any way possible.

Take care,

Your Sister in Survival,

Lynn

Hey everyone...thanxz for the warm welcome and kind words - I'm truly blown away!

To those of you who are supporters of survivors, this feels like a great place for encouragement and support for the supporters. I guess we need it too. It's difficult not to run when a loved one, or perhaps someone we've only recently met tells their story. Don't run! Rather, get down on your knees and thank God that this person who no longer has trust finds the courage to trust in you; that there is something inside of you that has somehow connected and made them feel safe. Please, don't run. As horrifying, nauseating, soul-crushing, destructive as it feels to hear these buried secrets, the person telling you has felt it and is feeling it a hundredfold more.

Don't run. Let them be heard. Above all, believe them....

Dar, friend of drummergirl.
