I get the isolation part. I moved away from the US to live elsewhere to get away from it all. I'm doing OK but I can get lonely. On one hand, it makes me feel safer almost? And also it allows me to be self-employed more easily and isolate myself more from others. But, being honest, I don't see that as being very helpful nowadays.
