Hello, my name is Elisabeth and I'm new to AS. By definition I was raised my whole life in a "cult". I was never sexual abused, but there was a lot of physical and mental abuse for the 21yrs that I lived at home. When I turned 18 I found an oppertunity to leave home. I started seeing this guy who ended up rapeing me multiple times. I moved back home to get away from him. And I'm still trying to figure out which on raped me more: him or my family/physicaly or mentaly. That was five and a half years ago.

I've never been public about my childhood or the rape. Only very few people know. I just can't keep it all in anymore!!!! I'm really nervouse about coming out public with it. I really hope that I can get some paece and healing here at AS.

Second, welcome. I am so glad you've found us. Like you, I've been physically and mentally abused in addition to sexual abuse. I know that they can be equally confusing. The first step and most difficult step to healing is breaking the silence. By joining us you hae done just that. Congrats! That took a lot of courage and strength.
