Hi AS community,

I'm Laura. It is my first time checking out the message boards and I'm not totally sure where to start, so I thought I'd start by introducing myself. I have read some of your introductions, nice to meet you! I hope to read more about your stories and healing.

I'm currently a college student working towards an interdisciplinary degree. I am a survivor, and I've carried it around with me for 2 years. My SA has been my drive to become an anti-trafficking, anti-rape advocate and a feminist. However, I haven't dealt with a lot of my own personal issues surrounding what has happened. I think I'm ready to really dig the demons out now though, I've realized that my silence will not protect me or anyone else.

I'm looking forward to conversations with many of you to find healing through each other.

Hello...I have read a couple of your posts in the Share Your Story part of the board...I just wanted you to know...you are not alone. If you ever need to talk you may pm me. We are all here for you, we can help/support you and so many can relate to all those feelings and all.

I hope you find AS as comforting and safe as I have...

take care

Wow, thank you all for the welcome. I really really appreciate it. I was unsure as to what I would find here--and I have found a community of caring, supportive individuals very willing to reach out and touch a heart as well as heal together.
