I guess I'm posting here as a start but this isn't my first post. I've asked a few questions, read a few stories, which have been tragic and moving and also sadly pivotal in my own 'recovery.' I mostly linger on the My Story Forum... but have yet to find the courage to write down how I lived, or even what happened to me. I haven't associated myself as a survivor yet, because emotionally, mentally, I'm not out of the woods yet. (Excuse the pun) So I guess.... why I'm writing here is to a) introduce myself as someone who has been through what many of you have been through and b) to raise my number of posts so I can gain access to the LiveChat and hopefully talk to enough people to eventually tell my story.

Welcome to AS. While I am never glad that anyone has a REASON to find us... I am glad that you DID find us.

I think you'll find this to be an amazingly supportive place. Don't feel like there's a lot of pressure to tell your story. You will tell what you are ready to tell, when you are ready to tell it. Nobody here is going to push you that way.

I'm new too and am having a hard time understanding how to post and all. You may not feel like you survived because the pain and memories are numb or far away but regardless you still got yourself to where you are today and that is surviving to me. I wish you well on your journey.
