Suppressed Pain

I am 46 years old and it has taken me this long, (since I was sixteen) to come to deal with my sexual abuse. I am also in recovery and my constant relapse has put me here, where I need to feel the feelings as painful as they are and begin to heal. My spiritual advisor suggested a forum like this so that I can see that I am not alone.

I was sexually abused by my 35 year old high school teacher. I was a confused and naive little girl who came from a large family of 8 other girls and no father, he died when I was born.

I really thought that this teacher was interested in my well being and later found that that was not what he was interessted in. My mom let me go and live with him and his wife becuase she was having a difficult time with me.

I though it was ok, they were the adults.

Well not only has it affected every relationship of the oppisite sex but my marriage is also at risk becuase of my behavior.

I hope to be able to have you listen and let me know that I am not alone.
