Hi all,

I just joined the other day, but I'm still contemplating posting my story. Talking about it via internet is much easier, of course, but it's likely to be triggering since I absolutely refuse to use any sort of euphemisms. We deserve to be able to tell our stories the way they really happened, and tell everyone exactly what kind of monsters these guys (or girls) are. I know how it feels to be triggered, though, so I'm hesitant to post at all. And anyway, my story is by no means as horrible as some of the things I've read on here, so maybe I don't absolutely have to post. I deeply respect all of you, after what I've read. Stay strong.

It's time to go relax, though. ttfn. :meditationf:

First welcome to AS!

If you feel comfortable you could post your story with a *may trigger* warning. But you by all means DON'T have to post if you don't want to.

You stay strong as well.

Hi and welcome.

Take your time telling your story. Sometimes people tell it in parts or not at all for a while.

See you 'round.

Random, possibly stupid question. I keep seeing people posting things like "my T" and I've been seeing a T." What does the T stand for? And why are we not typing the whole thing?

Hi Meridith,

My name is Lynn, and I am a member of the New Member Support Team. I just wanted to take the time to say welcome to After Silence. Take your time in posting your story...just because it may not be as "horrible" doesn't mean it is any less traumatic, and to keep it inside allows what happened to further keep its grip on you.

and to answer your question the "T" stands for therapist or counselor. It isn't because it is something triggering...it is just an abbreviated way of saying it.

I am glad that you have joined with us and look forward to getting to know you. If you need anything or have questions about the boards or how something works, please send me a personal message. I will gladly help in any way possible...also if you need someone to listen, let me know.

Take care,

Hey Meredith.

Welcome to AS.

T stands for therapist most of the time on here. Unless it says 'may t' in which case it could also mean trigger. Most people write out the whole word for trigger and just shorten therapist to T.

Stay strong.

Merridith,

:aswelcomesu:

I am really sorry for the things that led you here but I am glad that you found your way to AS. I'm sure that you will find the support and encouragement you are looking for and deserve. I look forward to seeing you around the board. Take good care of yourself.
