Hi~! I finally got up the nerve to participate. I am desperately searching for the elusive "cure".... knowing in my heart that it will never go away. I believe that joining this community might be a turn in the right direction.

This is a little awkward, so I'll just start by introducing myself and go from there....

My name is Pennie, I'm 37 and saying that I have baggage is an understatement!! I would like to let each of you know that I grieve for you. We are all unique, but also share a bond even as strangers.

It took me awhile to participate when I joined here too. I don't believe that the effects of sexual violence ever go away, but they do lessen and we can learn to better cope. It is very true that we all share this bond, though most of us at least start here as strangers, but we really do become like a family.
