Hello,

I just joined a few days ago and wanted to say “hello”.  Not sure exactly what to say in these kind of intro posts.  I have looked through some of the threads and am glad I have found this little corner of the internet.  Looks helpful.  It’s a lovely day where I am so I am hoping to have a good day, and I hope you are all in a good place,

Take care

Hi Finchy,  I love computer games, roleplaying games, board games and tabletop games.  All good as far as I'm concerned.  :)  At the moment I am replaying Skyrim again for the millionth time.  I hope the next one comes out sometime this decade!  What are you into?

That's awesome! :) I love RPG's, too. Surprisingly, I haven't played Skyrim yet. It's on my "want to play" list foreverrrrr. I've heard such great things! I'm currently playing Dragon's Dogma (an amazing RPG I've played a million times, too hehe), Pokemon Brilliant Diamond (yes, I love the Pokemon games), Mass Effect 3 (a third person shooter, I love this series), and Nier: Automata (I just started it, it seems very interesting!). I play a lot of games at once...I can't help it. I like variety lol. I'm so glad to meet you!

Mass effect 2 and 3 are the BEST games of all time imo.  You absolutely have to play Skyrim, seriously, it really is amazing.  But mass effect… that game gets me in the feels every time.  I actually feel emotional when I think about it.   What kind of run are you doing this time?  Thoughts on mass effect 4?  I also play more than one game at a time, I like to switch in and out depending on my mood.  I am also into civ 6 and Stardew valley (on ipad) at the moment.

I am pretty excited for mass effect 4, I think they learned their lessons from andromeda, and I didn’t hate that game as much as most people I know.  I finished it anyway.  I hope they really go with meaningful, impactful choices next time.  It really is nice to meet you on here.  :)

@Breeze... did someone say board games! that is where my game happy place is.  I actually have a friend that owns a game store (mostly it's a dungeons and dragons, pokemon, and warhammer front... but the board games look prettier on display... so that is a good amount of their stock lol. I see teacher under your interests as well. I am a 4th grade teacher (9/10 year olds) Hope to get a chance to get to know you better.

Yessssssss!!! So glad that you enjoy ME, too!!! Awesome! Actually this is my first time playing through all the games. I played Andromeda first whenever it came out, and I didn't think it was that bad. It was good enough that it made me want to check out the older games when the Legendary edition came out. And I'm so glad that I did! They're amazing. So far, 2 is my favorite. 1 was good, 3 is good, but 2 is great imo. I'm making all the "good" choices. Paragon all the way. :) I'm super excited for ME4...I really hope they go back to what the first three games were about. Like you said, meaningful and impactful choices. Andromeda wasn't a horrible game, but I didn't know the other ME games before it to compare. So I enjoyed it. But I like the set-up of the first 3 more.

Ooh Stardew Valley! It's such a cute game. I haven't played it in years...but I really enjoyed it. ❤️

Best wishes to you. :)

Hello Six, a friend with a game store, that would tempt me to spend waaaay too much.  I do buy some warhammer stuff and D&D books, but I love board games and board game nights.  I love the pandemic games especially, and ticket to ride.  Terraforming mars is one we have recently purchased and I am enjoying.  Do you have any favourites?  I am in the UK, we call that grade year 5 I think, its a lovely age they are so curious.  I actually specialise in teaching children with challenging behaviour, emotional, social and mental health issues.  My school is all through, ages 6 to 16 and only had 93 students, in classes of no more than 8.  We have a teacher and a support person in each group, and I am in the leadership team.  I am in charge of behaviour across the school.  It is a difficult one to talk about if I am honest.  I am off sick at the moment as I was not coping there give what has happened to me, but I am going back next week and I am deperately hoping it will be okay.  I love my job but it is so stressful.

I have been enjoying terraforming mars lately too.  I have been playing a lot of wingspan lately now that it is on board game arena...

Our school is similarly structured to yours (we have pk-8th grade (3year olds - 14 yearolds)  we cap our classes at 15 for most grades except the younger grades it's less.  We definitely have some challenging kids but not as a majority rule.  There is a very high level of generational trauma in our students families, so many of them have a lot of difficult situations at home.  The very week I started remembering the stuff from my childhood one of my students just looks up at me and said... Ms. S.... has anything bad ever happened to you....
