Hey =)

My name is Heidi and I am a survivor of rape and sexual assault. I was 5 when I was sexually assaulted by my next door neighbor and her niece, when I was 8 by my baby sitters younger brother, and 18 when I was raped twice by my ex-boyfriend. It has taken me 4 years to reach a place where I am proud to say I am a survivor not a victim. I know that by breaking the silence, I have grown so much and I am not afraid to speak out against violence and rape. I know that my voice has made a difference and that if it were not for the help, love, and compassion of others who have spoken out, I would have never spoke a word...

I know I have already sent you a PM *wink* but I am going to say this much pubically. I think you are amazing! Michelle aka violets8 told me about how you stood up and "broke the silence" in one of your classes and how after the class was over you were told that b/c of you, many others broke the silence as well in journal entries that were assigned to the class.

In my eyes that makes you a star! I cannot wait to meet you in April. Take your time to familiarize yourself with the board. I am so excited to have you here b/c I know you are truly an asset to this community.
