  1. I'm from San Jose, CA...and I love Ohio too, I visit there all the time
  2. Welcome to AS. It does get better. I know that doesn't seem like much comfort right now, but it does.
  3. Remember, there is no shame in tears. Everyone cries sometimes, and it is a natural response to trauma. Even though the actual abuse may have happened years ago, the moment you "discover" it, a new wound is opened in your soul, and it is like you have just been violated. Don't let anyone discount your feelings.
  4. There are many different ways to be assaulted and many different ways to heal. It is sometimes hard to tell what crosses the line, but the truth is that if you didn't want it, it was rape, no matter how hard or how little you fought. You did not consent, and that makes it rape.
  5. Hey, welcome, I am new to the site as well but been a survivor for years and years. If there's anything I can do to help feel free to PM me.
  6. Hi all, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Wyndsong (yes, that's really what I go by in real life) and I'm a 23 year old survivor in California. This is the first board I've seen dedicated to survivors, so I am new to this, but have been on several other online communities.
