Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum as of yesterday. It's been 7+ years since what happened happened, and I haven't really talked about it to many people before, and never with other people with similar experiences. I've been looking through the forums today and reading about other people's experiences and commenting a bit on mine, and it's been really freeing. As the awkward phrasing above shows, it's still hard for me to come up with the right words.

As a side note, I really love how people here say "hugs, but only if you want". It's such a nice way to show support while being really clear about respecting boundaries.

Welcome to AS. I am very sorry for the trauma you have suffered, but AS is a safe and supportive place to be. I think many of us struggle with the right words, so you definitely aren't alone there. I've been here 9 months and still struggle with that sometimes. I'm glad you've already looked around the forums and are starting to feel a little more comfortable.
