Hi everyone, I'm in need of some support.. A few weeks ago, I moved out of state, a few hundred miles away from home, to escape a very abusive relationship of two years.. Finally with no more contact with him, I could breathe again. But now triggers and memories are seeping like poison into my mind and I can't sleep at night. Memories of my ex and childhood memories of my father.. I fled to escape them both... So while I try to find a good counseling place around here, I thought I'd post here as well... it looks like a safe place to linger for awhile... I think I will post more of my story a bit later...

welcome, i just joined too. kinda in a similar position and did the 'move out of state to get away from your problems' thing too. didnt work and then i moved back though. good luck. hope things get better for you.

First of all I want to say how much I admire your courage to get away from an abusive relationship; I know it still doesn't look easy. Have you looked into some local rape crisis centers? Another benefit of that would be that it's free..
