I am in my upper 40s and have only really come to the realization that I am a victim survivor. It began when I was 13 and, lucky for me, I was able to stop it at 15 before it went beyond fondling. Because of that, I didn't see myself as a victim although it clearly impacted my life. It was during a training for work a couple of years ago that it came out. It was a sexual abuse training that discussed almost exactly what I went through. I couldn't take it and had to leave the training. It was after that time that I was able to tell my husband and a couple of close friends what happened.
