racheng
I'm new to the site just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am a victim of stranger rape. my attack was very recent and I'm still confused, and I havn't told anyone (other than my family and the police...) my friends don't know niether does my boyfriend. I don't want to tell them and I'm not sure I will any time soon, but I feel like I still need to talk about it or it's just going to get bottled up and I'll loose my mind...so I searched for help and came across after silence. My goal is to eventualy regain a feeling of control...which I am doing slowly but surely...and stop being afraid. I have always been very fierce and courages, and I'm just starting to regain some of those qualities. so for discussion... What kind of goals do you have? What was lost in your situation, that you hope to regain? How are you meeting those goals? Link to post
GodsGift2Me
Racheng, I am so sorry that it happened to you... I'm also new and a lot of what you said and are feeling is how I feel mine was very recent as well...I did tell my bf...I don't know how you are with your relationship and what not but for me it wasn't too bad...I felt at first that he was blaming me and I felt he was treating me just like the police did like I was making it up but in his case he let his friend think that I was cheating on him...I don't want you to be afraid to tell him but just make sure you are ready to you know...you need all the support you can get and for me I am also very fierce and courageous and I feel scared and just kind of helpless...my mother is supporting me quite a bit and I thank God she is here for me...I tell myself the road to recover will be rewarding and I believe it...I really do and you can talk to me in PM if you want to but just know I am here for you and also hear to get support so I can regain what I once had and how I once used to be...I haven't been back to college yet cause I'm nervous of other people's reactions and whether "he" is still there....just know you are not alone... Link to post
Sadient
Welcome Racheng. You are taking another big step in recovery and in my opinion, you are gaining that control and still have those qualities. I don't think he took any of the sorts because they're not his to take. =) You're very strong to recognize that you need to talk about this and you are more than welcomed to. We are behind you every step of the way and you can speak when you're ready. Take things at your own pace. ♥, Sadie Link to post

lacrymosa
Hi Racheng, I'm glad you've joined After Silence. I'm sorry to hear that you were raped, and are coping with the aftermath of the trauma. You'll find that many of us here at AS can relate, and you're not alone. The loss of control, and fears that sometimes seem irrational plague most survivors, including myself. I hope you find plenty of support and understanding here. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I look forward to getting to know you over time. Link to post
