PurplePegasus
Hello! I'm a 40yo woman, a mother, a divorcee. I left my 15 year emotionally, verbally, and sexually abusive marriage about 2 years ago. I'd been dealing with it okay, a little at a time. Things were going well, I was just coming out of survivor mode and into enjoying the present when memories of CSA from a man I adored surfaced. It has been a lot. If there's some discussion about repressed memories around these boards, just how it feels to be recovering them, sorting through what is ... Real... I would appreciate being pointed towards it. Thank you for being here. Link to post
awi
Hi welcome to AS so sorry what you have been through. Know that you are not alone. Many people here can relate to your words about recovered memories. For me it was not accessing them like not having all the files open on your desk top on your computer. Also, there are things that happen in childhood that in the light of adult eyes may look very different from what we understood as children. We remember when we are ready to start healing. Sitting with you. A Link to post
Finchy
Hello and welcome to AS! I'm glad you found your way here. I'm so sorry for what you've experienced throughout your life, but I'm glad you're out of that marriage now. It's very difficult to deal with resurfacing memories. You're not alone. I suggest creating a post about your experience and questions in the Aftermath forum found here: https://www.aftersilence.org/forum/index.php?/forum/30-the-aftermath/ Wishing you all the best on your healing journey. -Finchy Link to post
