New Here Too

Recommended Posts

Hi! I’m new and just trying to find my way around in here. I’m hoping at least to find a support group connection, at best on-going support, support group, and more??

I don’t really know what to ask or hope for. I’ve been involved with mental health issues, beginning with basic anxiety, 30+ yrs ago.

Current day, many medications & a few diagnosis’s later, and I’ve been off work for almost 6yrs. Worst time of my life until I got SS last yr. But, that gave me the time to do a lot of thinking. The past year or two, I feel like I’m finally making some progress, but too where, I don’t know yet 😝but I’m understanding myself more.

Thanks in advance for everyone’s support!!

Hi PMPazo.

Welcome to AfterSilence. I'm so sorry you have reason to be here, but glad you decided to reach out. You will find this a supportive community with many understanding and kind individuals. You are not alone.

Please note, you don't have to ask for anything. You may use this site in whatever way is comfortable for you. Some members just read; others support others or give kind words. Some share to make others feel that they are understood. Some post asking for support. You may do any of these, or a combination, depending on your mood. There is no right or wrong answer.

I am glad you feel like you've made progress in the last couple of years, but as many of us know, healing is an ongoing process an a journey. Some days may be good, others bad. Our goal is to have more good days than bad.

Again, feel free to take your time and look around. Wishing you continuing forward steps as you navigate your path of healing.

Mary
