Molly
Hi there - I'm a new member and happy to have found this forum. I have had a ton of new memories come back over the last crazy 6 months and, after a lifetime of trying to avoid the word "trauma", am now owning that I have very significant "T" and "t" in my past. It's been a wild and crazy ride. I have great therapists (my longstanding individual therapist, and now also a trauma therapist) for support, but have not had anyone to talk with who has been through similar things. I look forward to having the support and validation I think that a support group might bring, and to sharing that back to others too. Molly Link to post
MeBeMary
Hi Molly and welcome to AfterSilence. I am sorry for all you've been thru...I know what it feels like to avoid the "T" word. I lived in denial for decades before finally admitting the truth. Many survivors have. The one thing I've learned is it is never too late. It's good that you have support with this and now adding a community like ours to your healing process. There is a truth that no one understands quite as much as someone who has also gone thru similar things. You will find this community understand and kind and full of that "V" word of validation! Take your time and look around. I wish you many steps on your journey. Mary Link to post

Capulet
Hello Molly, and welcome!!! I am glad to see you here, though I am sorry for the circumstances that have brought you here. I think, though, that being around those who truly understand how trauma can affect you can make a huge difference when it comes to healing. You definitely are not alone. May being here bring you peace and comfort. Wishing you the best, - Cap Link to post
