Maxwell
Hello everyone! I am Maxwell and I am a survivor from sexual abuse from my mother. I joined this forum to get support and help from other survivors, who can almost certainly relate to my struggles. I also heard this place is a safe space for survivors like myself without abhorrent predators, so that's another reason why I joined. I hope, that it's okay for me to join this forum as a male survivor from a female perpetrator. I don't really have any hobbies, except maybe sometimes watching Anime, if that can be considered a "hobby." Thank you for reading my introduction! I hope everyone, who reads this has a great day and I also wish them all the best! Kind regards, Maxwell Link to post

I don't really have any hobbies, except maybe sometimes watching Anime, if that can be considered a "hobby." Hello there, Maxwell, and welcome to AS! I am Wanna Of course you are invited to join in! AS recognizes the trauma of every survivor, no matter your gender identity or the gender of your perpetrator. Every survivor should be offered the opportunity of a safe space, where they can vent and share on their own terms. I am happy you decided to join in here, and I hope this place will offer you that sense of a community that you've been craving. I am not into anime that much, but I've started to rewatch Avatar: The last air bender. That's childhood nostalgia for me. What do you like to watch? When first starting out in a community, one might feel pressure to interact or unsure how to start. You decide what to share, and when. Us staff are always here to help you get started. I am just one PM away Please check your inbox for your welcoming letter. So long, stay safe! W Link to post
ShyUnicorn
Hi @Maxwell and welcome. I’m sorry your mother, or anyone for that matter, hurt you. Hopefully you will find the same safety and support that I have experienced. Wishing you the all the best, ShyUnicorn Link to post
Maxwell
@WannaMoveOn Hi there Wanna! Thank you for welcoming me to AS. I was afraid AS might not accept me, because of my gender identity. I'm glad, that that's not the case. I also hope this place will offer me the community i've been craving. I've never watched "Avater: The last Airbender " Which is awful I know at one point I will probably decide to watch it. I like to watch multiple different things. As I said I like watching Anime. I liked watching the shows "Psycho Pass," "Code Geass", "Oshi no ko", "Demon slayer", "Jujutsu Kaisen", "Horimiya", "Charlotte", "Angel Beats!" and much much more. I can't really confine myself to one Anime. I like watching almost all of them. Even if the Anime genres I watch the least are romance and slice of life. Also if you want to know about my childhood nostalgia Anime series it's Pokémon. Even if some people don't consider it to be an Anime. I will message you staff, whenever I need to help with something. Thank you for being so kind and welcoming! I will check my inbox for my welcoming letter. I hope you have a great day and I wish you all the best! Please also tell me, if I wrote down something that's wrong, inappropriate, hurtful or incoherent. Kind regards, Maxwell Link to post

You're all good, Maxwell. Don't worry. I've linked our Rules and Guidelines in the welcoming letter. Those offer some direction, but please know, we do not expect youto know it all by heart. Our moderators are very understanding and nice 2 hours ago, Maxwell said: Also if you want to know about my childhood nostalgia Anime series it's Pokémon. E I watched that a lot as a kid, it was so fun with all the Pokémon. Some were so cute. My brother even had a Pokémon game for his game boy. Pokémon Go was big when I was in high school. 2 hours ago, Maxwell said: Hi there Wanna! Thank you for welcoming me to AS. I was afraid AS might not accept me, because of my gender identity. rabbitprotectsme
Hey! Hi! Welcome! I'm not glad you need to be here, but I'm glad you're here. I realize I'm a bit late to the party, but... It's always good to see a new friendly face so I just wanted to say hi. Link to post
Maxwell
@WannaMoveOn Thank you for the link, even if I couldn't open the Rules and guidelines link for some mysterious reason. It could be, because I use Android and from, what i've seen, while reading through some stuff on this website a bit is that Android users suffer from some bugs. Also thank you all for being so understanding. I watched a lot of Pokémon as a kid and young teenager. Some Pokémon were definitely cute. I liked to watch the journey unfold before my eyes. One Pokémon movie, that I remember fondly is the Mew vs Mewtwo movie. I also had some Pokémon games during my childhood. They were fun to play, even if I hated, that I didn't get good at them. I'm quite competitive, when it comes to video games, so I almost always take them quite seriously and sadly I often took them more seriously than real life. I am younger than you, so Pokémon go was my childhood essentially. I walked around for 10 hours+ a day often as a child, because of Pokémon go. I'm 18 years old now, but I remember, how when it was BIG. I was quite young. Thank you for welcoming all gender identities! I'm always worried about being seen as an invasion of a safe space, even though i'm a survivor myself. Link to post

MeBeMary
Hi Maxwell and welcome. I am sorry for the trauma you've endured at the hands of your mother. It was wrong and undeserved. You will find support and understanding here. You inquire if it's ok to be here with a female perpetrator. It may be less common, but it doesn't lessen your entitlement of support, understanding or being here. There are no gender lines when it comes to who is abused or who is abusers. It shouldn't exist at all for anyone yet does. We welcome all who have experienced abuse to our community. I just want to reaffirm this, tho you might already see this with the responses you've already gotten. Take your time and look around. The best to you on your path of healing. Mary Link to post
