Hello I’m new here

Hello ,

im glad i found this forum. I’ve struggled with thoughts,memories,emotions and everything.  Seeing some people’s posts makes me feel like maybe I wasn’t assaulted or my pain isn’t that bad and I should suck it up .  I love the support here.  I was in a very abusive relationship for 7 years where many times my partner just did what he wanted to me. Then after leaving I’ve learned I was assaulted by my boyfriend’s family member. I’ve just started therapy for a lot of childhood trauma and the domestic violence. Again I’m glad we all have a supportive group we can turn to.where we don’t have to feel guilt or shame about what happened to us

I'm sorry for the reasons that led you to seek out our site but I'm glad you've found us for support as you work to pick up the pieces and heal.  You deserve support and compassion for the trauma you experienced and your pain is as valid as anyone else's.  There is no comparing trauma so please know you are welcome here.  From what you briefly describe it sounds like you have been through a lot of terrible things though.  You're right in that you don't have to feel guilt or shame about things others did to you as it is not your fault.  I hope it will feel like other members are with you every step of the way on your journey to a better life.

I'm sorry for what you have been through. I find it is easier to talk on forums then out loud. Being here has helped me so much, even from the first time I ever posted. It is still helping me - I have so much support here and I know you will, as well. Here at AS, we are like a big family and our members are kind and non-judgemental.
