Hello, I was raped and sexually  assaulted by a chaser in March. Being a pre op MTF transsexual, This is worst thing I encountered with chasers. It has been one step with my recovery which I am seeing help. It has been tough and I am very lucky have my husband for support. It includes my family and friends too that has seen I went through a lot. Toughest part is getting justice, my rapist and his lawyer have been getting their way of getting the trial delayed 3 times and the prosecutor is not giving up on me. He has had enough of the trial getting delayed and wants to see justice for me. Charged with rape and a hate crime since I am a pre op transsexual with no bail

First off, I am sincerely sorry about the pain and suffer you're dealing with. Words cannot describe my condolences for you. I myself filed a police report after I got violated, but sadly the case went cold. I can relate to at least some extent to the process.

My family, it has effected them as well and they are getting sick and tired of the delays. Good thing is my rapist faces life in prison with no parole when convicted based on his record. My local LGBTQ+ community has been there for me as well for support

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry for all you've been thru and all you still go thru. Altho I've never been thru the legal process, do know that I admire and appreciate any survivor that stands up for themselves in this process, as when they do, in many ways they stand up for those of us who couldn't, didn't or didn't have the opportunity to. I do understand there is nothing easy about this, but I am so grateful you have a husband, family, friends and your community are standing with you. You can now add AS to your foundation of support.

I'm glad that you decided to reach out. You will find many understanding and kind people here. You will find it a safe and healing place to be. 

I wish you many forward steps on your path of healing...and best wishes in your court case (I hope the book is thrown at him!).

Plus I know it's not my fault. My rapist's lawyer is dirtbag and the evidence shows my rapist did it. One was a DNA test showing it. I also have a victim's rights lawyer on my side whom is also fuming mad at the judge and my rapist's lawyer, not at the prosecutor whom has not given up on me. My therapist says I am improving very good

Hello Andrea, welcome to AS! So sorry for what happened to you, you didn't deserve any of it. It's so frustrating when there's no justice around a situation. I'm proud of you for taking a step towards healing though. Remember you're not alone, we're all here for you

The prosecutor is pushing for a new judge and hopefully hears the ruling tomorrow. I went through a lot in my life and this was the worst of it. It has been a step at a time with the healing process. Equine therapy even has helped with me, therapist suggested this too. Getting my life back including the self esteem and confidence. The final step, seeing my rapist suffer found guilty and sent to prison where he belongs at getting justice for what he did to me

All of that must be really tough, I wish you good luck and sending you my support! You are really brave. I really hope they'll serve justice as they're supposed to.

It is tough and prosecutor is not going take any plea deals too, has told him no. Found out my rapist has been arrested for sexual assault 3 times and got a plea deal on them in the past

I am so sorry to hear about all the complications with the process. Many members on this platform have had their legal battles, it can indeed be draining, having to prove oneself repeatedly. I am glad to hear that you have a support system and hope AS can make you feel the sense of a community.
