Hi all :) I found this forum by internet search, looking for support to process what I've been through. I read through the rules and couldn't help but notice the dates some of those posts were made - it's comforting to know that sexual abuse survivors have been identifying with each other in spaces like this for 15+ years. My name is Elizabeth. I'm 18 and on my way into college, I have an antique project car which was the inspiration for my username, and an amazing girlfriend who is more than understanding and supportive, both in terms of my trauma, and in general. I look forward to meeting you all!

Welcome to AfterSilence. I'm very sorry you've experienced trauma but glad that you decided to reach out. AfterSilence is in it's 21st year of existence and has helped many survivors with support, understanding, kindness, validation and much more over these years. I've been here 10 years myself and have appreciated all those I have met. I do hope you will soon feel the same.  

Take your time and look around...jump in when you feel ready and what you are comfortable with. There is no pressure...this is your journey. Do know that I wish you many forward steps on this path we call healing.

I was your age when joining here, only a few months shy from turning 19. Gosh, time flies. 

After Silence offers a safe place for survivors to connect on their own terms - you decide what to share and when, while being offered complete anonymity. Sometimes, we just need to talk with people who are completing unattached from our private and professional life. We all carry our unique stories, but we also tend to relate to one another.
