hi all!

Recommended Posts

hi! i guess im going by elderflower for the purposes of this forum but anything like flower is also fine.

currently coming to terms with the fact that what happened to me actually wasn't ok, (and that i'm not just being particularly sensitive about it), so i am just hoping to find some kind of community here where i don't have to worry about how heavy it feels to "confess" what happened when my name & face & actual self are associated.

otherwise, though, im from the uk, and was mostly attracted here specifically because of the lotus flowers lol  its nice to (virtually) meet everybody

Hello, @elderflower, welcome to AS! :aswelcomesu: It is very nice to virtually meet you.

I am so sorry for what you have been through that brought you here. You have found a very supportive and caring community. Please take as much time as you need/want read & look around - and then feel free to post as you feel comfortable.

Hello elderflower and welcome to AS!

I am Wanna :flowers:

After Silence offers what you've just described, a way to share our story without having to involve our actual identity. Coming to terms with what happened is hard enough, and many of us appreciate a space apart from our work, friends and family. Sometimes, you just need someone to listen.

Accepting that what happened was not okay is a process, especially if you deal with second guessing yourself. Many of us can relate to that as well. After Silence offers a safe place for you to connect with fellow survivors, share in the amount you'd feel comfortable to, and just generally feel less alone. I think all of us has something to share, that can help others who are actively trying to heal. Healing can be a rocky road, but you are not alone. We believe you! :notalone:

Do feel free to reach out with questions, thoughts or for a little chat. The staff is here for you!

Hi elderflower. :flower5:

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am so sorry for what you went thru and the struggles you may be dealing with. What happened to you was wrong and unfair and you are definitely in a safe place to express anything you feel comfortable in sharing here. This is a community of very supportive and kind people. You are not alone.

We are glad you appreciate the lotus...a symbol of strength each of us strive for and have...even at the times we don't feel we do.

Take your time and look around. Feel free to jump in where you feel comfortable with. I wish you well on your continuing journey in healing.

Mary
