Hiya! 🥳

Recommended Posts

Hello! You can call me Melancholy or clownwife :) I turn 27 tomorrow! I am in a non-monogamous marriage with my lovely husband, and we have two cats named Cinnamon Bun and Leif. I'm very queer (as in LGBTQIA+). I have a ton of interests and like to just hang out whether it's indoors or outside in nature. I'm a huge dork and don't really know how to describe myself lol

I found this website in my quest to find support for csa. This is a topic I've never really been able to breach, and I'd really like to find support and hopefully even make a new friend or something.

I am happy but nervous to be here. I have ADHD and often forget about sites that I join (oops!) but I'm really hoping that I'll stick around and make connections. I'm so grateful that somewhere like this exists 🩷

I won't share every diagnosis that I have, but I will say that last year I was diagnosed with DID. My system functions without too much amnesia between switches, so we'll try to make a note on our posts if someone else is talking other than the host. Unless we put that it's someone else then it's me, Melancholy, talking 🌸

Thank you for reading and I'm excited to get to know you all!

Hi, and welcome, @clownwife :)

I'm called Cap and am a fellow survivor.  I do hope you are able to find and make connections here - there are many who share in the aftermath of CSA.  It is a nice feeling to be able to gain support from someone who understands what you have been through and what you are going through as you attempt to heal.

Just as a heads up, there is a rule here at AS that we must keep in mind.  Many have been diagnosed with DID and there is a support area for those who wish to talk about DID, but as far as making posts, we only ask that the host, (in your case, Melancholy?) is the only communicator.  You may communicate how your alters are feeling or discuss their struggles, but that is as far as is permitted.  The reason for this is simply because we don't have professionals on staff and it can sometimes cause concern and confusion among members who don't have DID or understand it.  I think you should be fine, though, if Melancholy does all the talking! 😉

Please take your time looking around and let me know if ever there is anything I can do to help with navigation or with finding your way around.

Warm wishes,

- Cap

Oh! Thank you for the heads up! I'll make sure that I'm the only one posting on here 😌

And thank you for the welcome! I'm on my phone so I hope this reply is working correctly lol I'll definitely take some more time to look around and see how things work

Hello and welcome to our community, Melancholy :flowers: Such a pretty name, I think I've never heard of it before. I go by Wanna.

We have plenty of people here with different diagnoses. Don't worry, we are pretty open about such topics here, and you decide what you'd like to share. I am so very sorry that somebody was evil enough to do such things to you. Please know, you are not alone, and we believe you. Every survivor and their story are unique, but we tend to relate to one another here. I hope you'll find the comfort and support system you need here. It can be nice to have an anonymous place, to just unload, ask for advice and more.

You can follow posts here and subscribe to them to your mail, so whenever you check your mail, you'll be reminded of us.

We have a forum for LBTQI+ members, and if you are a creative soul, we have the Healing Through Creativity forum. We are of similar age btw, I'm 24. I've been here since I was a few months shy of 19. So I basically grew up here 😄

Make sure to throw me a PM if you'd have questions, would need some assistance or to vent/chat. Us staff are here for you :notalone:

All best, W ☀️

Thank you so much for all of the kind words 🥰

And wow! I wish I had thought to seek a place like this when I was 18, but I was buried in denial thinking my trauma didn't affect me. I'm so glad you were able to find this place and make it your home ^-^
