I'm 28, married, and located in Northeast US. I'm working on the long-term effects from CSA. Looking for different outlooks, connection, and to find healthy coping mechanisms. Helping others brings me happiness, and I would love to connect with you in order to mutually benefit each other.

Our community strives to make survivors feel like they belong and are heard. While the circumstances are unfortunate, we can turn the ship around by creating a support system, relating to one another. Coping mechanisms and trauma are definitely reoccurring themes here. We also have some fun here, share our daily life and just chit chat about anything. You decide what to share, of course. 

You know where to find me if you'd have questions or need some extra company.  I am happy you've found us.

Welcome to AS, Claire! I'm glad you found your way here.  I'm sorry for what you've experienced, but you're not alone. You'll find a lot of friendly and supportive people here. I wish you all the best on your healing journey!

Also, I love your pfp and such! I LOVE those games! For some reason, my brain is blanking on the title lol.  But I played all of them. Really touching series. Always good to find other gamers here! (Sorry again, I don't know WHY my brain is getting foggy right now lol.)

Nice to meet you Finchy! I appreciate your kind words, glad to be here and found AS! Excited to hear you enjoyed the series Life is Strange! It is one of my all time favorites, very moving! Definitely amazing to find a fellow gamer fan can't wait to learn more about other games you've enjoyed!

Any time, Claire. I think it's great too, that us survivors have a safe and anonymous way to connect. I myself appreciate that I can say whatever here without it affecting me IRL, like some sensitive information and venting.

Life is Strange! Yes!! My mind totally blanked.  Such a good series of games. All of them. What games are you playing right now? I am playing several...Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Dragon's Dogma II, Yakuza Gaiden, and Lies of P. I play a variety of games...my favorite series though is the Atelier games. (Atelier Rorona, Ryza, Sophie, etc.)

Impressive! Those are all great picks! I haven't played Dragon's Dogma II or Lies of P yet. Love that you are a variety gamer as well. I am currently playing Persona 5 Royale (an amazing JRPG) definitely becoming one of my favorites with a very moving story and concept, God of War Ragnarok, and As Dusk Falls (a fun decision story game to couch play with others). Are there any upcoming games you are excited to start?

Agreed.. Very well said. I find what I am dealing with very isolating to discuss with people I know IRL. Even when attempting conversation, I find some may harshly judge and shame me as they don't understand..

Saying it gets more comfortable would be the wrong words, but by starting out here, you can start feeling less tense and more confident about the subject.

Lies of P was a HUGE challenge. I just finished it last night. My goodness, that last battle was a pain, but really fun to figure out, too.  Oh that's awesome. I really enjoyed Persona 5! I didn't play Royale, just the normal version. Persona games are so much fun. Same with God of War. Is that the newest one? If so, I haven't played that yet, but I do have it. 

I don't tend to look ahead at games coming out, so I'm not sure! But I do have/own some games I'm looking forward to playing soon. Like Atelier Ryza 3 and the newest Assassin's Creed (I forget the name now lol). As you can see, I'm awful with remembering names.  I was playing Baldur's Gate 3 for a while. Finished it 3 times. But I'm taking a break from it now.

Wow, super impressed by your gaming skills! That genre - Lies of P, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, and Dark Souls I feel are some of the most challenging games! I've watched my husband play and seen him toss a few controllers trying to beat them 😂  Cudos! 👏 Yes, it's the newest God of War! I can't wait to see how you like it!

That definitely makes sense! Have you played all of the Assassin's creed games? I hear the series is huge! Would you recommend starting from the beginning of the series or picking up at a certain one? I'm mid-way through Spider Man 2 now and just love swinging around the city LOL. Ooo definitely need to play Baldur's Gate 3 as well!

Aww, thank you!! ❤️ Yes, I've played Lies of P, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, and Demon's Souls. I haven't played any of the classic Dark Souls games or Sekiro. But I've played those and some other soulslike games. They're really fun, even though they're super frustrating...huge challenges to overcome!  Thank you again!! Your husband must be really good, too, then, even if he's tossed his controller at times haha.

Ah yes, I have that then! I love the God of War games. I played the original ones on...I forget which system now. Ps3? PS2? I don't know. But yeah. I've just played too many other games before getting around to Ragnorak.  

I've played MOST of the Assassin's Creed games. I've played all the classic ones...the only ones I haven't played are the newer ones: Valhalla and Odyssey. (And well, Mirage, which I do have.) They changed up how the game worked in Valhalla and Odyssey...made them almost more RPG-like? They didn't appeal to me. Anyhoo, I suggest playing from Brotherhood onwards, in order. The first 2 games are definitely good, but I think starting with Ezio's story works well.

I love the Spider Man games!!! I haven't played the new one though. I'm waiting for some sort of sale lol. But ah yes, it's so fun to swing around the city haha! 😄
