HushHush
Hi! I just found the site - I was talking with my therapist and we thought it would be good if I could find some fellow survivors to share with and learn from. I've been carrying what happened to me for nearly 50 years, have tried therapy a few times without making progress, but am now getting great support and have begun to open up and recognise what happened to me. I'm male and 60, from northern England, and finally feel like I might be beginning to heal. I'm looking forward to exploring the site and all it has to offer. Link to post

It is never too late to heal, we have mixed ages here, and every survivor carries their own experiences. We tend to relate to each other, though. Hope to see you around ☀️ Link to post

MeBeMary
Hi HushHush, Welcome to AfterSilence. I am so sorry for the trauma you've experienced and the struggles that still plague you. I'm also decades in from when trauma happened, as there are many like us with dealing with it that long. It's never too late to work on healing and we are happy you have found us. Feel free to look around the community and interact where you feel comfortable to. If reading helps to start, that is ok, too. I know it took me awhile to find my footing, but I can say I did and I am so thankful for this community. There is support and understanding around every corner. I wish you the very best as you continue your journey in healing. Mary Link to post
