New here. Hi everyone

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

First of all, I'm really happy I've found this community and that I can take control of my healing journey.

I'm a 30 years old, female. Maybe I should have started healing many years ago as it happened to me 10 years ago but I'm still proud of myself for coming here. For many years I've avoided the trauma or downplayed it. I've had therapy on and off but I really feel I need to do more to heal. My goal is to feel calm and confident in myself and to eventually be in a place where I can be in a comfortable and meaningful relationship. Due to the trauma, I've never been in a relationship. So they are big goals and dreams of mine.

I'm looking forward to connecting with others in the community, trying to help and support as much I can, sharing my story and listening to others.

Thank you x

Welcome, @ReaderWriter - I can definitely relate to the delayed decision to begin to reach out.  I, too, waited many years post-trauma to do so.  Like @Finchy says, it's never too late - the time has to be right for you, and I'm glad that this time is now. :)

We're happy to have you as a part of our community.

Best wishes,

- Cap

Hi ReaderWriter,

Welcome to the community. I am very sorry that you've endured trauma but happy you have found us. This is a very supportive community with many understanding and kind members. You are not alone.

I think many of us, at one time or another, has downplayed or denied what happened and the struggles it has caused...so we can definitely relate. It's good tho, that you are starting to face them. I do believe it eventually gets easier when we are facing what happened...not easy...but eventually easier.

Feel free to look around the community and jump in where and when you feel comfortable. Wishing you well on this path we call healing.

Mary
