Introduction

Recommended Posts

I'm a 36 year old female. I suffer from many different disorders, both mental and physical. I'm hoping I found a place where I'm not judged. Almost all my life I experienced some form of abuse. I'd like nothing more then to make some friends who understand.

Hey @Sailor Moon Lover, welcome to AS.  I'm glad you found us but sorry you need us.  We're a very welcoming bunch, you can post as much or as little as you like and come and go freely.  There is totally no judgement here, believe me, we've heard it all!  Have a look around the forums, make yourself at hope, and when you feel comfortable reply to some threads or make your own post.  If you need anything while you're finding your feet, feel free to PM (message) me.

Welcome to After Silence @Sailor Moon Lover. I'm so sorry for what's happened to you. You aren't alone. There are so many people here who understand what you have been through and the feelings that come up from it. You wont be judged here. This is such an amazing supportive group of people, who are willing to listen and offer comfort when you're having a hard time.

There are so many good threads here to read through that have some really great advice or ideas to try.

I'm sorry you're feeling so alone 💛. We're here for you.

It is hard when we don't have family or friends we feel we can talk too. Coming to a group like AS can help you feel less lonely.

I'd really enourage you to find a counselor or therapist you feel comfortable with. It helps so much to have that face to face contact, and to have someone who can guide you through healing.  There is also the help line , RAINN where you can call or text to talk to someone when you need too.

Sitting with you if you'd like. ❤

I do have a therapist that I see once a week. I just have a hard time speaking about things. I'm much better at writing it down. I trust her, but I can't seem to be able to talk much to her about things I want to say.

Welcome to AS SailorMoon and I hope you'll find this to be a safe and supportive place where you can talk about things with people who can understand a little better where you are coming from after enduring trauma.

good luck!!!

@Sailor Moon Lover would it be helpful for you to write in a journal and have your therapist read it?  I have done this myself, i have a very hard time with certain parts of my past sa that I'm not able to say out loud, but can express them written down for my T to read.  I would much rather write then talk. Talking about it sometimes makes it feel too real.

I haven't tried that yet. I'll try to remember this week. Yes, talking about it makes it feel more real to me as well.

@Sailor Moon Lover welcome again. i'm very sorry about all that you've been through. such a life is unfair, but the people here understand. i believe you can have a much better life with time and processing. i feel a lot less alone here. i'm sure you'll feel that way here too if you choose to stay. and that it's easier for you to write about some things than speak them is understandable. sometimes a sense of distance helps one feel more safe, while we build ourselves up.
