Hello, new here

Recommended Posts

Hello. I am a 37 year old man, and a victim of CSA. I have tried therapy once, but my therapist left for a different job, and I refused to persue it further. I'm going to be trying again, I know I need it.

The screen name is an inside joke between my mother and I (it's supposed to be an Alien's name).

Hi Zargax,

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry you have experienced childhood trauma. It is unfair and never justifiable. You will find support here, as we have many understanding and kind members. You are not alone.

Feel free to look around the site and interact where you feel comfortable. It can take courage to reach out, so do know that this is acknowledged. I wish you the best as you move forward on this journey we call healing.

Mary

Welcome, @Zargax!!  Although I'm sorry you have reason to be here, I'm glad you're here and I hope you are able to make some connections with other survivors. That has made all the difference in the world for me.

Take care, and again - welcome.

Thank you all for the kind welcomes. I too am sorry you all have to be here, too.

Some days are easier, other days are harder. Most of the time, though, it's both at once, if that makes any sense.

@Zargax You’re welcome—and thank you. I hear you on it being hard and easy some days. Healing is a strange creature sometimes, if that makes sense. We’ll be here for you through your hard, easy, and in-between days. It’s great to meet you.

Hello @Zargax I am Wanna :flowers:

I am back from a little break, and wanted to make sure to catch up with all newbies who posted an introduction. You have probably gotten familiar with the site by now, but feel free to contact me with any questions.

You are doing the right thing by seeking some support. Acknowledging ones need to process, and putting it in action, takes a lot of effort. I am happy you've decided to give this community a shot. We welcome all kinds of survivors, and our members form a wonderful support system.

My deepest sympathies about your trauma. You have nothing to be ashamed about, and we believe you. :notalone:

All best

- W ☀️
