summer2009
Just joined the site a few days ago. Don't know what to say. I typed and erased my story on this post. Guess I'm not ready to share it yet... though I know that there are people here that will understand. I've been reading posts for the last few days. I read some of them and it's as if I'm reading myself. I'm looking forward to becoming a part of this community and hoping that this is the first step towards healing. Link to post
write track
Hi @summer2009 Welcome to After Silence; I'm new here too...People seem very kind & supportive...Maybe check out some of the public postings - we can access the Share Our Story forum after posting ourselves on here a few times (x10) There are Mods looking out for newbies posting but unsure about ETA's. Capulet
Hi @summer2009 and welcome to After Silence! @write track is right - the Share Your Story will unlock after you've acquired 10 postings. Until then, please do take your time to look around and become acquainted with the site as best as you can. Yes, I understand completely the typing and erasing your story - I've done the same thing. Sometimes I just need to be a little bit more ready. One of the things I like the most about this community is that you're never under any pressure to share - our only 'rule' as far as that goes is, 'only when you're ready!' It can be pretty overwhelming to take in all the postings you've seen so far, so there's no rush. You'll soon receive a private message from a member of our Newbie Support Team to officially welcome you to the site and pass along some helpful links and information. Until then, if you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line. Take good care and congratulations on taking this huge leap toward healing. Best wishes, Capulet Link to post
Charlie.1
Welcome summer2009. I can relate to what you are saying and just reading someone else’s experience can help me to see why my experience was not my fault. Link to post

Hi summer, Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry you have need to be here, but do know you will find tons of support. Our members are very kind and understanding. You are not alone. Sharing your story can be difficult, it can take time and it can take thought. There is never a rush to share anything and you can interact at a speed that will be comfortable to you. Many times our members come on to just find that support and encouragement...and maybe a little advice for the struggles they endure. It is an additional sad thing about experiencing abuse...we deal with all the aftermath struggles and try to find ways down the path of healing. I do wish that for you and believe that you find many healthy and safe steps here. I wish you the very best. Mary Link to post
