Hello everyone, I'm a new member here. You can call me Nova, it's an internet handle, so no worry, it's not my real name

I'm twenty-nine years old, and as odd as it may sound, I'm actually looking forward to getting active in this form. I'm a survivor who's never spoken out, so this is all new and terrifying for me. Don't be surprised if I need some hand holding through things, but I plan on doing my best, that's all I can do really.

Welcome to AS. I'm sorry you have a need for this place, but please be assured this is a very supportive site. You will find many new supportive and understanding friends. This was my first step out of many years of denial, so I understand your nervousness, but you will be surprised how freeing to be able to speak here. I never had a voice before, and now I do. And so do you. I wish you well on your healing journey.

I'm new and finding my way around as well, Nova. As someone who didn't even really understand that I WAS a survivor until very recently, I sympathize with the tenuousness of coming out of your shell for the first time about something that is so dramatic. I'm here because my therapist doesn't have any group meetings for what I need. Not sure how it will work, but here it goes.

Everyone needs their hands held now and again...

I am glad you have found AS but I am sorry you have to be here. I hope you find AS as helpful as I do. There is a lot of support on this site that will help with your healing. I am glad that you are ready to get your healing process rolling. Hopefully you will find comfort so you can share you story with confidence.

I'm glad you feel AS (After Silence) can be helpful and that you're looking forward to getting active here! It's understandable that it would be a little scary at first but don't worry, we'll hold your hand as long as it takes for you to find your feet here.
