    Thanks a lot @missfrier @snmls @mini.finch. We are meeting in unfortunate circumstances, but thanks for the kind words. This is an amazing community, and I'm just a helper, I can just imagine how comforting this might prove to a survivor.

    Hey everyone, I'm Mahadev(not a real name, don't freak :p). Male, not a survivor, just a helper, I guess. My girlfriend revealed to me that she had been a victim of sexual abuse as a child, and I'm just figuring out how to best help her. I'm apparently the first person she's trusted enough to tell too, so yeah pretty honouring, but places a significant responsibility on me as well, since she's very sensitive (understandably) about that subject, and what I say about it has a great effect, so I don't want to risk accidentally hurting her or triggering something.
