I'm new to this site, but this is one of the first things I saw. I just wanted to say I don't think it's a bad thing to open up to your spouse about these things. It happened, it affected you and I'm sure it still does. Dont beat yourself up. It may help her to understand you more and may lead to a deeper connection together. If no one else, your spouse can be there for you when you need it most.

She is polar/ manic depressive. And we have a proundly mentally handicapped child.She has a hard enough time dealing with these issues. She knows the basic outline of what happened, and is very supportive I just don't what to add to her stress.

But thank for you comment.. I agree that opening up to your spouse, is a good thing. But because of our particular situation. I believe it will course more harm than good.

Well I'm glad you found this site to be able to vent. I'm sorry I didn't think about what your whole situation may be. It's hard when there is so much involved, Its great that you can support each other. You both sound like strong people working through your own things and raising a beautiful child at the same time. Just dont be so hard on yourself, its human to want to share and connect more.
