Fairly common abbreviations accepted in most chat and forums

LOL = Laughing Out Loud
BRB - Be Right back
ROFL = Rolling on the floor Laughing
ROFLMSAO = Rolling on the floor laughing my silly a$$ off
YMMV = Your Milieage May Vary
GGPP = Gotta go PP
TW = Trigger Warning
IMHO = In MY Humble Opinion
OTOH = On the Other Hand
TY = Thank you
Rehi = Hi Again
WB = Welcome Back
WTG = Way To Go!
WTF = What the frenchfries? (I don't think I reallly have to spell that one out. LOL)
YW = You're Welcome
OMG = OhMYGawd!
HRU = How Are You?
U2? = You too?

These are some of the most comon ones I can think of right off the tope of my head. From there you can go to to various different directions.

Way to go Ardatha, I think you have got most covered .. smile.gif

T on its own can also sometimes stand for trigger warning ..

Oh and TNX can also be used as thanks, I have also come across LMAO .. Laughing my A8888 off!

And now my brain has gone blank ..

But its a good point you have raised, maybe Lindy and Vera would consider putting this as a pinned topic so newbies can get an idea of what is used on the site ..

I just tried to include as many as I could off the top of my head. There are places on the internet where they are listed and many more besides. These were also the most common ones I could think of. Forgot all about TNX, so TNX wink.gif
