New To As

hello everyone,

I am a 20 year old college student. I was raped just over a year ago. I found this site just now, because several things have recently come up that have shown me that I have not dealt with it as I had hoped. I'm not really sure why I'm on here, just that most peopel around me who know what happened pretend like it never did, or have completely removed themselves from my life.

I hope that being on here will help me come to terms, (if that is a good way of putting it), and be able in at least some small way to move on.

I am so glad to know you, I just hate the circumstances. How wonderful that you joined us at AS! Thats fabulous!

I know you're trying to deal, but I encourage you to get therapy also. I've been in therapy for 10 months now and its the best thing I've ever done for myself. Its so incredibly helpful....Hard, but Wonderful. Do you think its something you'll consider doing?

I was in counseling here at school but of course of the counselors are men, and no one really understood why I didn't want to talk to them. I also went to counseling because the school forced me to take a leave of absence because of what happened and would not listen to my point of view.
