I'm New And Anxious

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My name is Ariana and I'm a stay at home mother. I've only spoken about my experience once. But lately I've been struggling a lot with what happened to me when I was younger. I started looking a few things up and stumbled across this support group and thought I'd give it a shot. I'm beginning to realize that just because you don't talk about what happened, doesn't mean it will go away. I've harbored a lot of guilt, shame, confusion, resentment towards my family, and anger for years now, and I need to come to terms with everything. I'm really hoping to make some friends here to help me heal, though I know it's not going to be easy.

It's time for me to break my silence.

Blueskeys1,

I've been hiding from what happened from me for a long time, too. You are right, just because you don't talk about it doesn't make it go away. I know it wasn't easy, but you have taken the first step. I hope this place will give us, and everyone else here, a chance to heal.

Hey Ariana, That is ever so so true! In fact the less we talk about it the less it will ever go away. If you have talked about it only once then this is pretty new to you. Time to be able to ease the guilt, shame, anger, and confusion. That can be a heavy load to carry around. No, it is not easy, but neither is the silence. Gratz on breaking silence! Best to you getting all the support you need.

Be good to you there

Welcome to AS Ariana!!

I totally agree with you- not talking about it or ignoring it doesn't make it go away. Sometimes we just have to deal with things face on. I know I tried to make it go away for years without talking about it.. but it just followed me around until it got to be too much. I hope that this site will give you the support you are looking for and I hope it helps lift some weight off your shoulders.

Mandy
