I'm terrible at the whole introduction thing...

I'm flautist. I don't like the term survivor, I prefer to call myself a veteran of an on-going war. Survivor to me means that it's over, but I just don't think this will ever completely be over. I thought it was, but then it came back.

As if you can't already tell, I'm also very blunt. I try my very best not to offend anyone, but I do say what's on my mind. That's kind of recent... I've been trying to let my shield down and open up a bit.

Okay, that started out a bit heavy... let's lighten it up a bit...

I'm a college student, studying music and psychology. I want to be a music therapist and open a crisis center. I like to say that I am one big enigma: I'm a Christian yet politically liberal, a hick yet a geek, a classical musician yet I love country music, hyper yet pretty shy... it seems every aspect of my personality contradicts another. My fiance says that's what he loves about me, but sometimes I think it drives him nuts. ;) Speaking of which, I am engaged (duh) to a wonderful, caring man. He's also a student, studying Computer Science, though I think he will be going into law school once he gets his computer science degree. He's incredibly smart.

As you can probably tell by this post, I'm pretty talkative and all over the place in what I talk about, sometimes to the point of incoherency. That's because I have ADHD. I should probably go to the doctor to get medicated for it, but I HATE medicine. I don't even take ibuprofen unless I am in excruciating pain.

Also, I have a new passion: fish. Bettas, to be exact. I have one. His name is Sakana. That means "fish" in Japanese. He's dark blue with some red wash in his tail and fins. I have decided that once I get my own place, I'm going to breed them. They're so beautiful.

Anyways, I think I've rambled enough... so... umm... hi!

It started for me when I was 10, I am now 62 and it's still not over. I really had to stop and think about that statement. It may not ever be over, but it does get better. This is a very good place to be, Hope we can be what you need.

violets, do you know what kind of bettas, and colors? I am partial to half-moons, myself, but mine is a normal ole veil tail. He's still pretty, though.

Heavensent, I am planning on making a post explaining my dislike of the term survivor a little more in depth, but I haven't quite gotten there yet. I didn't realize how much I had in me that I wanted to let out until I posted here and you all encouraged me so much. Now I feel like I have about a million things to post about.

I am not sure about what kind of betas but he has all colors purples blues reds and even solid white. He selects who he wants to breed and based on colors and such. One neat thing is that the male cares for the eggs. They build these really cool bubble nests and keep they keep the eggs in the bubble nest until they hatch. Michelle

yepperz... but you have to keep a close eye on it, because sometimes the male gets hungry and eats the eggs... if that starts happening, you have to take him out.
