  5. Hi! Welcome to After Silence. (((hugs))) Carlene
  6. From my parents: "So, did you learn your lesson? You have awful boundaries and just can't go out with your friends." "You shouldn't expect the police to prosecute your case. Its a "he said, she said" case." GRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. "Well maybe if you didn't act the way you did, we wouldn't have had to beat you and drag you down the stairs by your hair." "You are such a burden. It would be best if you were medicated in an impatient mental facility." "You were trouble since the day we brought you home from the hospital. No wonder you turned out the way you did." "It's not like we didn't have a reason to beat you." Thanks Mom and Dad. Glad to know I was a burden and I "provoked" you to beat the sh*t out of me and leaves me with marks on my body.

  9. Your daughter is lucky to have a mom like you! One who cares enough to find out how to help her. Please support her. I wish my mom would do that for me. (((hugs))) and welcome. --- Carlene
  10. From my coach upon telling her I was molested about 4 weeks ago: "Well you should realize that people aren't just going to take care of you." I was thinking, thanks coach. I guess I didn't realize that MY TEAMMATES were going to let some guy molest me.
  11. Thank you for all your support. It is good to know there are other people that can listen when I need it. I guess I never felt that before because my parents don't know. You guys are great. Thanks again. Carlene
  12. Hi, I just joined tonight. I found this side through the Joyful Heart Foundation and hope this will help me open up a little more about the abuse. I was sexually abused by a senior in my high school when I was 14 years old. He abused me for a year. I used to try and hide my pain by drinking and partying which only led to me making stupid decisions. I never told anyone about what happened. Finally four years later, I was put on meds for PTSD and am talking to a counsuler. I still haven't told my parents though. I just am still really scared that something will happen again. I know this is a sur
