  1. Hi Teardrop, Welcome to AS. I'm glad that you found this site, and I hope that you'll find some support and comfort here in being with people who can understand your pain. Post more when you're comfortable and ready, but don't rush yourself. Take good care of yourself, Nick
  2. Hi HurtingandScared, Welcome to AS. I hope that you will find AS to be helpful in your recovery. This is a great place to get some support. I'm sorry that things are so difficult for you right now, but things can get better over time. Feel free to post as you feel comfortable. I am sure that you will find this to be a very accepting and supportive environment for you. Take good care and hope to hear more from you in the future! Oh and..... Happy Birthday!!!!!! Nick
  3. Hey Randy, Writing it down can be a nice alternative to talking about it outloud...a way to get started in my opinion. Take your time though. I would say go slowly and make journal entries when you have memories, when you are preoccupied with the abuse, etc. If it does start to feel overwhelming, therapy is always a good option, if you're open to that. There are a lot of very supportive people here, and you'll be ok here. It sounds like you're in the beginning stages of recovery. Try reading what's here and relating to others about it, see where that takes you. Post wh
  4. Aurelia, Welcome to AS. I hope that you're able to find support here. Excuse me while I put on my counselor face for a second lol..... You said something that struck me....that you're no one special (paraphrase).... But then you said something that exhibits that you're special... You're in college, you know the math....you're doing a great thing. Take care and keep in mind that you are unique and 'special.' Nice to meet you, Nick
  5. Hey everyone, Thank you all for the great welcomes and all the support. I really appreciate it. I'm glad to be here. It looks like this will be a very supportive place to spend time. My webpage and everything should be up in a few weeks and then I'm I will let you guys know what's going on. In the meantime, it's been quite an experience "coming out of the closet" with this in my community. So far I've been met with a lot of support. I know it's not going to be all roses, but it's been good so far. Take care everyone, Nick
  6. Hi, I just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Nick. I am a survivor of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. My story is posted in the story folder. I'm 26, and currently trying to start a nonprofit organization for male survivors where I live that would also offer group meetings for all incest and abuse survivors. I've been dealing with my abuse since I was 19, and still working on it. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask Thank you to everyone here for a very warm and compassionate welcome. I appreciate the support. Nick
