Hi...another From A Long Time Ago

Hi,

I am new here but my story happened over 40 years ago when I was 5. No one knows and I don't know why this has all been triggered again. The past few months have been pretty stressful and maybe that is why. I had a hard time sleeping a few nights ago so I sat and for the first time ever I wrote a short story about what I remember and more frighteningly, what I don't. I also did some surfing and found this site. I began reading some of the public posts and realized that maybe this was exactly what I needed. This will never go away but I am so glad that this site exists now. Writing it down was my first step after so long and I realized that if I want to deal with this, burying it back into the dark corners of my mind would only let it resurface next month or next year. My story is no where near as horrific as some I have read about here but it still had a permanent affect on the rest of my life. I realized a long time ago that my childhood stopped before I even started school.
