Hey people, I'm EscapistElite. Okay, strictly speaking that's not really true. But it describes me well enough. I'm good at being somewhere else. I'm a good liar as well, whenever I can be bothered. Serves me nicely when I need to be someone else.

Unfortunately.. I do very well at deceiving myself too. I'd like to share my story here one day. Again that's not really true. I wouldn't like to, but I do want to. Yeah that's it. Want to. I don't really know why though? Is it because I need to? I'm not sure at the moment.

I'm not really always one for words, but I belong here on this forum. I would even if I never made another post. I find that conclusion slightly uncomfortable.

I'm not sure what else should go into an introduction. I'm in my early 20s, I'm male. While the latter seems more uncommon here, neither is something I care greatly about.

So far I've learned 2 things from this place. Firstly, I'm not triggered very easily. Or I don't know if I am in fact triggered. Even worse, maybe I'm just deceiving myself again. Strange.

Secondly.. I'm not alone.

Many of us are adept at deceiving ourselves - you're certainly not alone in that. It can become a way of life, of survival. This is a wonderful community of support and even if you never post again, which is certainly allowed, I hope you're able to take some support from those of us that do post.

I'm a lot like you! Very good at deceiving myself, but a lot as changed over the past couple of years. I guess what i'm trying to say is you'll start catching yourself doing it, or you'll have someone to tell you that you are doing it.
