Hi,

I'm new here. I'm 31 and living in Ireland with my two children and my hubby. I was abused as a child by a relative, then spent 20 years trying to forget it. I went to the police about 4 weeks ago and am in the middle of making a statement, I'm so confused and scared at the moment and I am seriously considering not going thru with the statement. My hubby says he's behind me, but I think he would prefer me not too, and the BIG problem is I have yet to tell my mom, she'l be in bits and I dont know if I can do that to her after all these years.

What made me go to police is that I heard the guy is living with a woman who has children, I look at my own two and think, I cant knowingly let him abuse other kids.

I don't know, I'm all over the place right now,
