Hi there,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am Jen (as you can see from my username... I should have come up with something a bit more inventive!). I am 37 and just starting the process of dealing with a rape from 20 years ago. I did a fairly good job of pushing the memory and it's effects on me to the back of my mind for many years but now want to try to heal. I look forward to getting to know many of you better as we all work on our journeys.

My name is Lynn, and I am a member of the New Member Support Team. I just wanted to take the time to say welcome to After Silence. I can identify with your struggle. Our stories are quite similar in that I put what happened behind me for many years and suddenly found it staring me in the face in my mid-thirties. It has taken awhile, but much of what I dealt with about my childhood abuse and what happened in my twenties has led me to a deeper understanding of myself. I still have a ways to go in dealing with somethings, but I think that is just part of being human. Take heart, you can get through this.

I hope that you find comfort and support here. I am glad that you have joined with us and look forward to getting to know you.
