Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. It's been over five months since I told my ex that I never wanted any contact with him again, and I'm finally coming to a point where I can start talking about things, and dealing with things. So, I've been looking around and thought I'd join this forum. I've realised I really want to talk to other people who have had similar experiences and understand a lot of the feelings that come from that. I have a very loving partner but there are things he just doesn't get, no matter how hard he tries (and he tries so hard...).

Thank you for the welcomes! This place is really validating and supportive! I feel like I've found a place to just say what I need to without worry, so thank you!

I really like how people give hugs and say "if okay". I know a lot of people who just hug and I go "Yeah please don't touch me". Only a few people ask if it's okay. So I'm really happy to see people conscious of boundaries, even if it is just a post on a forum!
