Hi From A Supporter Of A Survivor

Hi everyone,

Just a brief intro about why I'm here:

I'm 22 and my best friend is a survivor (as of about 4 months ago).

I found this site as she said it might help me to look at some sites to try and get a better insight into what she is feeling and how I can help her begin recovery. It has been a long, emotional and difficult road up until now, and I want to do all I can to help her through this.

I looked at a few posts in the secondary survivors forum and I found some really useful advice and it gave me some clue as to what emotions she's going through, which really helps. So I'm feeling positive about how this site might be able to help!

I look forward to chatting with some of you in the supporters forum

If you want to help her, call her everyday and ask her if she's ok, and when she answers you, dont tell her how she should feel, in fact, tell her you don't know how she feels at all, but you care. As stupid as it sounds, it was the best thing my best friend ever did for me, she never downplayed how I felt, but reassured me she would listen no matter how long I wanted to talk, or what about.
