Hi Everyone. I am going to post my story in the appropriate forum, but I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Im 37 and Canadian and I have some questions about the board. What is an Alter that they talk about in the comments to read before posting?

Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a mental illness in which a single person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. thus, alters are those distince personalities.

wow. Thanks everyone. I felt pretty alone this am when I awoke. Cried, etc. etc. but I came out of it and am just plain tired now. But what a comfort to see your positive words!
