Hi, There.

Recommended Posts

I'm a new member - I've been reading posts and gaining strength from your kind and wise words already, and that's just since last night. I'm very impressed with the courage of the people posting here, as well as the feelings of warmth and support I see.

I'm a CSA survivor (9 years of it by my sadistic paternal uncle), and I've been in therapy with a wonderful therapist for many years. I've been reexperiencing some nasty traumas lately, and some of my old coping mechanisms have been resurfacing, as well. I was surfing for something about dissociation one recent sleepless night and I don't feel like it was a mistake that I stumbled onto this site. I'm looking forward to connecting with people who are on the same path that I am.

Thanks for being here.

~Krys

I am sorry for what brought you here, but I am glad that you found us. I love your icon, it is so true and sounds like it describes the point you are currently at. I have been there too and don't doubt for a minute that I will be there again. Good for you in reaching out for another form of support. I hope we can help you along your journey.

Hello and welcome. I am very sorry to hear that your are having an especially hard time and battling the ever returning coping mechanisms. It seems like lately I am discovering coping mechanisms that I didn't even realize were there... they do seem to be relentless don't they?

I do hope and believe that you will find some comfort and help here. I am a newbie but so far the compassion that I have seen here is amazing.

We all have our own ways of dealing...though some may be different than others I think we can all relate to the pain. feel free to PM me anytime you'd like. I am glad that you are here :dance:

Love and Light,

Hey Krys, Welcome to AfterSilence.

I am also a survivor of CSA - You are not alone

AfterSilence is a wonderful and safe place to come where you can connect with other survivors, and support each other, and I am glad that you have chosen to come to AS and be apart of that. AfterSilence is a wonderful place where survivors can come for support and healing :tealribben:

I look forward to seeing you in the forums sites and chat room soon

Please take care, and feel free to PM me anytime.

Thanks, everyone, for the warm welcomes. Even though I feel like getting out of bed to go to work is a chore, I feel like I did something positive and good for myself. I haven't had many mornings like that in a few months.
