I'm new... I'm a 21 yr old college junior. I'm a survivor... think I'm glad I found this. I know there are alot of women who have been abused, but I feel very alone. I'm in counsiling, and my counselor knows something has happened but I haven't been able to talk about it. I've never talked about it. I don't really want to. Ever. But, I thought this board might help me have the strength to face it more, and remind me that I'm not alone... so I can stop feeling sorry for myself. Anyway... yeah.. hi everyone, it's good to be here...

Hi,

Welcome to AS. Glad that you are here.

I know that the feeling of being alone is very common among survivors. Connecting to one another significantly helps to diminish that aloneness and alienation. You are not alone here. There are lots of members who will be able to relate what you can share.

It doesn't sound like you are feeling sorry for yourself. It sounds like you are bravely facing your being a survivor of abuse/trauma. This loss is something that needs and deserves to be grieved. It sounds more like grief than feeling sorry for yourself. Grief brings healing.

Hang in there. Healing is out there and here, for you.

Hello Haley Joan. Welcome to AS. I'm sorry you have gone through so much. I hope you find what you are looking for here. They are a great group of friends that will try their best and will understand a lot of your feelings.
