I New To All Of This

Recommended Posts

I found you all the other day when I was just out on the web looking for more resources for me.

8 months ago or so I was flooded with repressed memories while doing some step work for a 12-step program I am in.

Since then my world has been turned upside down and inside out. I am not the same person that existed then. I am more scared, more fearful, and just feel plain old crazy some days.

I have been in therapy for the past 8 months with someone that specilizes in trauma.

Some days are good some aren't so good. Like today. I had an anxiety attack that pretty much started last night and lasted all day long until I finnally called my therapist and she talked me through it to the other side.

However, I am exhausted now. Will be going to bed shortly but figured I would drop an intro of myself.

It helps to know that other people are going through the same thing as me and have gotten to the other side.

Thanks for being there

I'm sorry for what you are having to deal with. I have heard from other 12 step people that they first started remembering after being in sobriety. You have been learning some good skills there and it is good that you have been in therapy as well.

I'm sorry about the anxiety attack, I can relate. Good for you for calling your therapist.

It is good to get more support and to work on finding more support friends. Good for you. This is a good place for that.

Take care.

Hello Sober02. I'm so sorry you've suffered so badly and are trying to deal with this trauma, but you've found the right place where the people here understand your feelings and will give you support whenever they can.

All the feelings you are having are totally normal after trauma. I wish I could make it all better for you, but sadly life is not that easy, but I can at least send you some cyber hugs. Hope that helps just a tiny bit.

Just take one step at a time. :bighug:
