many_pieces Posted January 5, 2007 Share Posted January 5, 2007 Hi, I'm new here. I kind of found this forum by accident. To say something about myself... I am 23. I am a biology major, though I started as a nursing major, but had to switch because of health reasons. I have many health complications because of an eating disorder and other things. I was severely abused as a child - basically from birth until I escaped at 17 by running away and living on the street. I have been abused in all ways - physically, sexually, chemically, emotionally, etc. by my family - mostly my fathers (I had 3 different ones). I was also raped by my first boyfriend and experienced the suicide of my 2nd father and later my priest. I spent my teen years (15-18) in the state system - mostly in hospitals, they didn't have foster families available. I struggled with a severe eating disorder and issues with SI. However, I have worked very hard to overcome my past. I have realized that I am a stronger, better person because of it. Link to post
